Located near David Dinkins Circle in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, Analisa Iadicicco‘s BUMPERMAN: A HERO RISES FROM THE ASHES OF WILLETS POINT pays tribute to the immigrant community of Willets Point, a Queens neighborhood long-known as the city’s hub for affordable auto repairs and parts while honoring its ongoing transformation into a mixed-use community — with a stadium for the MLS’ New York City Football Club.

Fittingly, the sculpture has been crafted from recycled and reclaimed car bumpers and other auto parts made to resemble a Transformer — in particular Optimus Prime.

The piece will be up until October. So you still some time to check it out.
