Photography: Aretha Franklin Tribute Franklin Street Subway Tribute Etc. 8/17/18
When the news reports came out that Aretha Franklin was deathly ill, some impromptu tributes began popping up all around town — with the first being a handful of wheat pasted messages throughout the Franklin Street and Varick Street 1 station in the Tribeca section of Manhattan. I took advantage of summer hours at my day job to check out the tribute and unfortunately, most of those MTA unapproved tributes have since been taken down; however, so far one has remained — and I spent the rest of the day photographing random things in my city.
