Bay Breeze Park, Rockaway Beach, Queens, NYC 10/12/26: Once the former home of the Jamaica Bay Yacht Club in the 1890s and the Jambay Casino Restaurant in the mid 1920s, the almost 5 acre lot that now comprises Bay Breeze Park had been long abandoned. The park offers a gorgeous view of Jamaica Bay, The Cross Bay Veterans Memorial Bridge and Broad Channel to the north.
On this warmer than normal October afternoon, a boat could be seen cruising the bay — in water that has been remarkably clean.
