Yaz Lancaster, who I met in the inaugural cohort of Asian Arts Initiative’s Sound Type Music Festival and Music Writer’s Workshop played a show with their newest project Medium at Cassette last night. As I heading towards a Flushing-bound Q58 at Fairview Avenue and Forest Avenue, I came across a sign at Cassette that read “BLACK LIVES MATTER.”

Yes, they fucking do. Joran Neely’s life mattered. And his murderer somehow gets to walk away free.
