Yesterday, I left my apartment around 10:45am to head to Coney Island for the 43rd Annual Mermaid Parade. Instead of riding the F for over 40 stops, I decided to take the R to the E. At Court Square, I’d take the G to at least Smith and 9th for the F. I’d get to Brooklyn — without having to cross the East River or go much of the length of Manhattan.
But the best laid plans of mice and men, as they say. Signal issues on both the F and G created a nightmare throughout both the day and night. When I got to Smith and 9th Streets, I noticed that one side of the arrival clock was looked as blurry as if I were viewing it without my glasses.
