Last week, a dear friend of mine purchased a DSLR camera — her first! — and she wanted to begin playing with it. So went went to nearby Flushing Meadows-Corona Park for an afternoon of shooting, along with some tutoring and tips here and there from me.
There aren’t a lot of statues in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park — but one of my favorites is Donald De Lue‘s The Rocket Thrower, an ode to space travel commission specifically for the 1964 World’s Fair.
