Last Saturday night, I was at MoMA to catch a screening of the restored short films of DEVO with DEVO’s Gerald Casale and Mark Mothersbaugh. As a small child, my mother played a lot of DEVO while cleaning; so I know a lot of DEVO songs forwards and backwards.
I took my mom and we had a great time bonding over our nearly 40 year love of DEVO — and I think we were even more thrilled to hear the band’s original members talk about the restored shorts and videos with a mischievously sarcastic sense of humor.
We managed to get into Midtown a bit before doors, so we spent a few minutes walking around to kill time, when I came across this food cart and food cart guy. Is there any more of a New York scene than this? I doubt it.
