I caught a 10:35 Northeast Corridor Amtrak train to Philadelphia for the third of the six sessions of Asian Arts Initiative’s Sound Type Music Writers Workshop. The workshop hosted by the esteemed John Morrison was scheduled for 2 — and I wanted to ensure that I made it on time. So I wound up stopping at Fadó Irish Pub in Center City to watch some of the 2024 UEFA Championship and to kill some time. Plus, the other benefit was that the bar was roughly a 20 minute walk from Asian Arts Initiative’s offices over on 12th Street and Vine Street.

So, I ordered their Bacon Cheeseburger Mór and had a couple of pints of Guinness and watched most of the France vs, Belgium game. But around the 75th minute, I had to leave. Sigh. I never saw the game-winning goal. Such is life.
