Fort Tilden Beach, Breezy Point, Queens, NYC 8/16/26: Although I’m a native New Yorker, there are parts of my hometown that I just haven’t seen, let alone photograph. I had wanted to see Fort Tilden for a while — a former military installation with an old missile launch site and other coastal defense resources? Some of the most secluded beachfront in the entire city? Sure, why not?
Sunday afternoon was very gray and the skies started to get dark enough to force a return to safety. But I’ll be back. I didn’t see all that I wanted to see.
