This past month has been rather busy: At the beginning of the month, I was in Philadelphia for the fourth installment of Asian Arts Initiative’s Sound Type Music Writers Workshop and Music Festival. I had two deadlines for pieces — one for Sound Type, the other for a publication in Philadelphia. There were a handful of shows, including a couple of New Colossus Festival Summer Saturday showcases at 18th Ward Brewing.
And right now, I’m currently in Rouyn-Noranda, Québec for the 22nd edition of FME. Y’all will see a shit ton of photos, videos and coverage in the upcoming days and weeks through Instagram and this site.
Because I was so busy, I had forgotten to make a Philadelphia post. My now 10:04pm Northeast Corridor train from William H. Gray III 30th Street Station arrived at Penn Station at a little after midnight on August 3. It was a quick, whirlwind of a trip but I was glad to be home for a couple of weeks — before heading back out there.
So, I didn’t realize that the E was running on 6th Avenue. So I had to walk through Penn Station and out into the street. The only building that’s more New York than the Empire State Building in my opinion, is the Chrysler Building.
Home, home again/I like to be here when I can . . .
