Hurley’s A YUL, Montréal Trudeau International Airport 9/8/26: Or You’re Not a Degenerate When It’s Airport Time . . .
Times have changed and times are strange
Here I come, but I ain’t the same
Mama, I’m coming home . . .
— Ozzy Osbourne “Mama, I’m Coming Home”
I walked 20 minutes or so in the rain to catch the 747 express airport bus to Montréal Trudeau International Airport on Blvd Rene Levesque near Rue de Bleury. At that time, there was no traffic and the bus ride was insanely quick: I was at the airport at a little after 5:00am for an 8:20 flight back to the States.
I went through Customs (which went much easier than I thought it would go) and I stopped at Hurley’s, the airport’s Irish bar for a pint. Hilariously, as I paying the bartender asked me if I had dined there before, because I seemed familiar.
That’s not surprising. Every time I’ve been in that airport, I’ve stopped at Hurley’s. Does that make me a regular?
