Founded in 2015 by arts advocates Sandro and Tati, ARTECHOUSE is a new age art destination dedicated to showcasing works by groundbreaking artists, who work with new technology and new forms of creative expression. At the crossroads of art, science and technology, ARTECHOUSE brings true 21st Century art experience as the first innovative platform for experiential, genre-bending, one-of-a-kind multimedia art exhibitions and explorations.
In 2017, ARTECHOUSE opened their first permanent home in Washington DC. In 2018, ARTECHOUSE opened their second location in Miami Beach and in 2019, they opened their newest location in the Chelsea Market Building in the Chelsea section of Manhattan.
ARTECHOUSE NYC’s latest exhibition, Geometric Properties explores fundamental mathematical patterns to stimulate existential self-reflection and emphasize the pure wonderment of being through a cinematic journey in which mathematics, nature and architecture coincide to inspire introspection — and awe. Created by Julius Horsthius, the audio-visual installation presents a new existence: an immersive, eternal reality removed from the complexities of the everyday. And within this reimagined world, visitors are free to visualize themselves within a larger whole.
Earlier that day, I was in a deep funk. The job market has been particularly difficult and frustrating. I had gone for a walk and got an email from a dear friend: she had gotten tickets for Julius Horsthius’ Geometric Properties for her, her brother and her mom. Mom couldn’t go and because she had this third ticket, my friend asked me. I wasn’t in the best mood but I went — and it was an incredible exhibit. Check out some photos below.
