Make Billionaires Pay March 9/20/25: Dissent and expressing that dissent through protest and the ballot box are as American as apple pie. This administration is wildly unpopular and will continue to attempt to squash free speech, the free exchange of ideas and the free press. Don’t let them. Use your talents, your voices, your platforms to speak out in your own way before it’s too late. 

I’ve said this before and will continue to say this: Documenting these protests have been a profound personal and professional honor. Power to the people, because the people have the power, y’all.

The Joy of Violent Movement is a completely independent and completely D.I.Y. media outlet. Over the course of this site’s 15+ year history, I’ve used my fiercely independent stance to cover music with an eclectic and global perspective that a lot of other publications just don’t have — and will likely never have.
