Photography: Michael Miller’s “Surf Station 90,” Beach 90th Street — Holland Avenue S 3/22/26
Michael Miller‘s Surf Station 90, a collection of vivid and boldly colored, faceted glass panels celebrates surfing, while channeling 1960s surf posters and album covers. And fittingly, the installation is located near a New York City-designated surfing beach!
Miller’s images are meant to evoke sitting inside a wave and looking towards the shore, the ripple and splash of seawater and people riding surfboards. Besides being a burst of color, it’s a reminder of what the beach and the water means to the folks in the Rockaways.
