There are a handful of ways to really get acquainted with a new city: through its local delicacies, through its nightlife and music, and just as importantly, through walking around. Over the past few days, as a result of the M for Montreal Festival I’ve managed to a little bit of all of that. I’ve been charmed by this city: so far, the locals have been charming and incredibly welcoming. The festival attendees have equally been charming and welcoming. The food — particularly, the poutine — has been to die for. Fuck that Popeye’s Chicken Sandwich, y’all. I might kill a man for the poutine at La Banquise.
Thursday, I met up with a friend of a friend for some poutine at Patati Patata on Boulevard Saint Laurent. And as I walking there, I stumbled upon some gorgeous artwork, including one of town’s murals decided to hometown hero and legendary songwriter Leonard Cohen. Check out some photos below.
