Photography: Murals, Center City, Philadelphia, PA 7/30/22 – 8/1/22

I went down to Philly for a brief weekend stop, which included covering Kiwi Jr. with Weird Nightmare and Gladie at Johnny Brenda’s. Despite the fact that I’ve been in Philly a number of times over the past decade, I’ve never covered a show there. Typically, I would miss someone being in town by a matter of a few days here or there.

I once worked at a company that would require occasional business travel to Philly. And while I got to know bars and restaurants in town, I never really had a chance to really wander around to take photos and just see things — until relatively recently. Instagram and this blog certainly helps fuel that; but I also think that how I think about travel has changed as I’ve gotten older, too.

Philly does have some absolutely gorgeous and weird artwork — including some of the most beautiful murals I’ve seen since I was in Montreal. Check out some photos below.
