I’ve spent a significant portion of my life restlessly rushing towards the next new thing. Partly because this year has been a slow, difficult year and partly because I’m getting a little bit older, I’ve become a bit more reflective.
So, I’m at SummerStage Rumsey Playfield listening to Yussef Dayes and his amazing band on a lovely summer evening when I looked at the nearby trees bathed in stage light. I’ve seen this hundreds of times here, a small and very beautiful moment.
I was reminded of Wave ICT and seeing a similar scene as freight trains rolled past, the trains wheels seemingly in syncopation with the music. I was reminded of nights at FME’s 7th Street Stage in Rouyn-Noranda . . .
