I was invited to the third — yes, third! — Queens Rising launch press conference at the Queens Museum earlier this week. The dignitaries who offered remarkers spoke about the necessity of the arts, whether economically or one’s social and mental health., and the importance of supporting the arts and arts organizations in the borough. More on that at a later time. (I have to edit those photos!)

One of the highlights of the day is the fact that once the press conference ends, you can get a few uninterrupted minutes of the New York Panorama by yourself. Yes, it’s a bit of childhood nostalgia: If you’ve grown up in Queens, at some point you’ve gone on school trips to the Hall of Science, the Queens Museum and The Queens County Farm Museum. But it’s also fun to pick out things you hadn’t noticed before — or that you had forgotten about.
