Yesterday, I was invited to a press conference at Queens Museum for the launch of Queens Rising, a month-long festival in June that celebrates the art, food and culture of my home borough. More on that a bit later.
One of conferences’ speakers suggested that those folks who were invited and hadn’t seen the New York Panorama at the Queens Museum should look at it. As a schoolboy, I wound up at the museum on a handful of school trips. So I’ve seen the panorama a number of times; but how many times can you take a look when the museum was closed to the public?
