When you’re heading into Rockaway, you pass through Broad Channel and Jamaica Bay via the Joseph P. Addabbo Bridge. On a windy afternoon, just off the southbound side of the bridge, you’ll see parasailers in Jamaica Bay, their parachutes often just at eye level or a bit higher. There’s a small parking lot, just off the bridge, where you can stop and watch them. I’ve seen this several times and can’t get enough
