Photography: Springtime in Quarantined New York Part 2
Over the past month, New Yorkers and others across the world have been self-isolating and observing social distancing to slow down the spread of COVID-19. Because my mom is in the high risk category, I’ve made every attempt to be exceedingly careful: for the most part I’ve only gone out to the store for food and beer, to the pharmacy for mom’s medications and for the occasional walk to get some exercise and fresh air.
Yesterday, I took a long walk around through Corona, Rego Park and Forest Hills with my camera in hand. And much like my previous walks, there’s a peaceful — and somewhat eerie — reminder that although things may be unfathomably dire, it’s still Spring here in the Northern Hemisphere.
