As ya’ll know, this week is a busy week: I’m covering the sixth edition of New Colossus Festival. Most of this week will be spent running around New York’s Lower East Side catching bands and artists and catching up with colleagues and pals.

Last weekend, I headed out to Sunnyside to catch Sunnyside Shines‘ Lunar New Year Celebration, which featured a Dragon March from the Columbia University Lions Dragon March team. Sadly, I wound up missing a significant portion of it and catching up at the extreme tail end. Next time, I’ll make sure i don’t miss it all. But what I will say is that it’s an event that serves as a reminder that immigration and cultural exchange makes America a much better, much more interesting place.
