Last month, a dear photographer friend and I decided to head out to take some photos of a handful of illuminated art installations across town. We both had wanted to see NEON and Frankie Boyle’s Living Lantern, an animated public art insulation/sculpture: Located on the Broadway pedestrian plaza between West 38th and West 40th Streets, Living Lantern was a sculpture that was roughly 14 feet tall and 20 feet wide wooden, illuminated lantern featured pieces that moved with the wind.
The insulation was meant to inspire a rare moment of zen-like reflection in the middle of Midtown Manhattan.
