Photography: The Unisphere: Or Around and Under the world . . . in 8.5 Minutes

After stoping at Clem’s for a few drinks, there was a last minute, late night stop at Flushing Meadows-Corona Park for some shots of the Unisphere. Honestly, despite the fact that I live about 15 minutes down the street from the park, I’ve never been in it late at night. (Of course, as I got older, I spent most of my time in the City or in Brooklyn, carousing and getting into all sorts of trouble — and by the time I got back, I’d be roaring drunk. Or I’d just want to pass out in my bed. So the park just wasn’t a thing.)

It was a beautiful experience for most of the time I was in the park: Some young people were playing bachata and singing along while drinking and smoking weed. Of course, at some point the cops showed up — and I decided to just leave. I didn’t want anything to do with the cops at all. But the pictures I got were worth it all. Check some out below.
