Photography: Tribute Park, Rockaway Beach, Queens, NYC 2/16/26
Out in Broad Channel and Rockaway Beach, portions of Jamaica Bay frozen over. Although we’ve had warmer temperatures where some of the snow and ice have finally begun to melt, you can still see some icebergs and floes.
There was a brief and very quiet stop at Tribute Park, which is dedicated to the 343 firefighters and the neighbors, family and friends that the community lost during 9/11. While there, a couple gazed out into New York Bay quietly chatting as a New York Ferry approached its terminal. Every day life continues but you can’t help but think of those who were lost. And that’s ultimately, the point.
