Because I was getting my second Pfizer COVID-19 shot on Mother’s Day, I took my mom out for Mother’s Day, a day early. She can often have very simple wishes: this year, she wanted to go out for dinner and to get drunk at Clem’s for the first time in about 15 months or so. That was easy enough to do: we stopped at Tacombi, a small local, Mexican chain with locations in the Financial District, Upper West Side, Upper East Side, Williamsburg, Fort Greene and a couple of other locations that I fell in love with while killing time during mom’s various procedures. And I got her pretty drunk.

Of course, unsurprisingly, I had my camera — and at various points, we had to stop because something would catch my eye. So check out a few photos below.

Caption: I’ve been drinking outdoor Guinness for the better part of a year. I’ve missed drinking Guinness indoors and being vaccinated has made that a reality. But honestly, beer at any time is wonderful.
