Photography: Winter in Quarantined New York

Usually, when I’m doing a photography project outside of my live concert work, I have a particular idea of where I want to go and want I want to shoot: sometimes it’s one location or one particular thing that has captured my imagination — or something I want to have on my Instagram/Flickr what-may-have-you; other times, it’s multiple different locations. However, this particular set of photos is much more random and features photos taken over the course of a couple of days that I had my camera, with the idea that maybe something would catch my attention.

Caption: Because of pandemic-related restrictions, outdoor dining and drinking in the middle of winter is a thing. New York State — much like many other states across the country — make it a requirement for bars to have some sort of food for sale, along with your drink. So here is a Guinness with a hot dog at my beloved, regular bar, Clem’s. So far, I haven’t gotten sick of hot dogs yet; but time will tell. The main thing is that occasionally, I want to get out of my apartment and have a drink somewhere — and I can still do it fairly safely. Will I be doing that when it’s 14ºF? Probably not.
