Airbird and Napolian is a new production project of Joel Ford and Ian Evans. Their first single together, “In The Mix,” features Erika Spring of Au Revoir Simone, and it has a slickly produced feel of the synth-based R&B of the 80s, complete with a sinuous, almost slithering bass line and tribal-sounding drums. I think you’ll hear this song at a lot of shows over the next few months because it’s sexy as hell, and pretty danceable.
