Athens GA’s Twin Tigers formed in fall 2007, after two members met waiting tables in a vegetarian restaurant owned by Michael Stipe of R.E.M.  Following the buzz of their first release Curious Faces/Violet Future EP, the band signed with Brooklyn-based Old Flame Records. Since releasing their debut LP Gray Waves in 2010, Twin Tigers toured with Interpol,  Minus the Bear, the Hold Steady, Deerhunter, Les Savy Fav, We Are Scientists, and the Antlers. Recently, Twin Tigers finished working on their sophomore effort, Death Wish writing and recording the album’s material at a studio on loan from Interpol. Somehow, it’s not very surprising to me “Racecar,” the first single from their sophomore effort sounds a lot like Interpol and New Order – but a bit moodier and a bit more muscular.
