“Be Ready When I Say So” is the first single off Stay Frosty, the debut effort from the Perth, Australia-based Emperors. The track has gained the band quite a bit of attention internationally as it was named a US iTunes Song of the Week, and Rock Song of the Year – and I suspect that it has to do with the fact that sonically, the song bears an uncanny resemblance to The Colour and the Shape-era Foo Fighters. In other words it’s power chord-based grunge rock with an anthemic, populist bent.
