Brooklyn-based band Zula is fronted by cousins Henry and Nate Terepka, and their debut effort will see an October release through Inflated Records. But before that, the band released a three song which features likely album track, “Twin Loss.” “Twin Loss” thematically deals with a rather dark, unsettling subject – the song’s narrator has spent his life mourning the loss of a twin who has died at birth. And from “Twin Loss,” there’s a lingering sense of incompleteness and inconsolable, incomprehensible loss. Sonically, all three tracks bear an uncanny resemblance to Radiohead – not a terrible comparison at all as they have a mournful, deeply introspective air.
