Cascine Records through their roster of artists have quickly developed a reputation for being the home of slickly produced, lushly layered synth pop that manages to be reminiscent of 80s R&B, synth pop and house music. They’ll be releasing Jensen Sportag’s debut effort, titled Stealth of Days on November 12. The first single, “Bellz” owed a great debt to house music; however, the latest single, “Under the Rose,” has a much more straightforward pop and R&B sound – sure, beneath the song’s slck airiness, it has a chilly feel. And yet it’s approachable and feels like the sort of song you’d hear while shopping in some boutique in the East Village.
