Danish funk/soul act The Asteroids Galaxy Tour won quite a bit of attention overseas, thanks in part to an extremely popular Heineken ad, which used a snippet of a track off their last effort, Out of Frequency, Lars Iversen’s production — a production style that may remind some listeners of the likes of acts such as the Funk Ark, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, Escort and others, and for an impressive live show, led by Mette Lindberg, the band’s lead vocalist.

“My Club,” the first and latest single off the band’s forthcoming third full-length Bring Us Together has the duo of Iversen and Lindberg going through a decided change of sonic direction — their sound is even more processed than other, creating a psychedelic, cosmic glow, completed with harder hitting boats and melodic horn samples, which are further processed. The duo retain their funky sound but it leans much more towards dub and electronica.

The official video manages to capture the  new single’s breezily psychedelic feel.
