Dave Keily and Daniel Holderer formed the Muscle Shoals, AL-based Blind the Sky back in 2007, and although the band went through a couple of lineup changes until Mike Hollander joined the band in 2010, the Alabama-based trio have developed a reputation for music that goes wherever their collective muse tells them. “Break Slater” is the band’s latest single and if you pay close attention to how the song is constructed, it’s pretty interesting: you’ll hear subtle differences pieced along with more obvious differences – there’s a really cool section towards the end that uses soaring organs to seal the deal. The song just kicks ass and I know it’ll get y’all going on a Monday morning back at the office.
