Glass Animals released their debut EP Leaflings last year, and the band spent the past year writing and recording material for a full-length debut in a make-shift studio in the Oxfordshire forest. Reportedly, the isolation of the environment informed and inspired a great deal of the new album’s material. “Exxus” is one of the singles off their new album, as well as part of a single package that will be released on July 1st. “Exxus” is a slow burning track, which has a deep-seated sense of anxiousness and menace, as though something were lurking deep in the shadows behind you.
Interestingly, the band has toured with the Chromatics and Yeasayer, and they’ve played at several major European festivals, including the Midi, and others. But I think based on this track, you’ll be hearing more of them here in the States.
