Honeyblood is the Glasgow, Scotland-based duo of Stina Tweeddale (vocals and guitar), and Shona McViccar (drums). Their debut 7 inch single “Bud” was produced by Rory Atwell (known for his work with Veronica Falls), and will be released by Fatcat Records the other day. For a new band, “Bud” manages to reveal a few things — the duo are incredibly self-assured for a relatively “new” band; and that their sound bears an uncanny resemblance to both the Raveonettes at points, and to the Coathangers — it has a gritty but bittersweet quality while retaining some essential beauty.
The official video seems wholly based on the single’s eeriness by using some eerie yet beautiful imagery.
