Last year, the Brooklyn-based band Starlight Girls released a five song EP which was comprised of material heavily noirish 60s inspired indie pop; however, over the summer they released 7 inch produced by Xiu Xiu’s Jamie Stewart (which was released on a limited edition picture disc featuring glow-in-the-dark reproduction of constellations), and that album represents a change in sonic direction for the band. On “7 x 3,” the band’s sound sounds more inspired by the Sneaker Pimps – it has clear elements of trip hop and it’s actually a trippy song.
