Live Concert Photography: Black Panda PR’s Project Pandamonium at Ludlow House 10/24/16 feat. ROZES, TRISHES and Stalking Gia
The good folks at Black Panda PR invited me and a bunch of industry insiders and professionals for a showcase featuring some of the firm’s blogosphere dominating and chart topping, and up-and-coming electro pop artists within the intimate confines of the Lower East Side’s gorgeous Ludlow House.
With the release of critically applauded singles “Everything,””In and Out” and “R U Mine,” Philadelphia, PA-based electro pop artist ROZES began to see a growing national profile for slickly produced and R&B-leaning electro pop anthems paired with pop star belter vocals. Adding to a growing profile, the Philadelphia, PA-based pop artist has collaborated with Just a Gent‘s on their Hype Machine chart topping single “Limelight” and with The Chainsmokers on their Top 40 track “Roses,” which she performed with the pop act during the Billboard Hot 100 Music Festival last year. However, 2016 may be the pop artist’s breakthrough year, as her debut EP Burn Wild was released to critical praise earlier this year, and she’s made a number of major, attention grabbing live appearances — including nationally televised appearances on The Late Late Show with James Corden, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, as well as sets at SXSW, Coachella and Neon Gold’s Pop Shop.
TRISHES is a Los Angeles, CA-based indie pop artist, who employs the use of looping machines, effect pedals and samplers in a fashion reminiscent of renowned singer/songwriter Moses Sumney, although the up-and-coming pop artist has publicly cited Regina Spektor, Fiona Apple, Florence and the Machine, St. Vincent and Kimbra as major influences on her sound and aesthetic.
With the release of buzz-generating single “Second Nature,” electro-pop artist Stalking Gia has quickly become an virtual sensation, as the single was placed on a number of major Spotify playlists including New Music Friday, Pop Rising and U.S. Viral Top 50, and as a result the track has received more than 1.8 million Spotify streams. And adding to a growing profile, the Warner Chappell Publishing artist — a division of Warner Brothers best known for major pop artists like Katy Perry, Beyonce and Bruno Mars — has been compared favorably to the likes of Tove Lo, Banks, and Lana Del Rey, with blogs like Idolator suggesting that Stalking Gia is an up-and-coming star.
Stalking Gia followed the buzz-generating single “Second Nature” with her latest single “Young Diana,” a collaboration with singer/songwriter Deion Gill. As the Warner Chappell artist explains in press notes about her latest single “This record was created during a writing session with Deion Gill. We met the same day we wrote the song, and it quickly turned into a duet. The melodies came instantly off of the main guitar riff. We then got to talking about Michael Jackson’s, ‘Dirty Diana,‘ which led us talking about the song allegedly being about Diana Ross. This inspired the phrase, ‘I could do you dirty like a Young Diana.'”
