I’ve been busily attempting to catch up on my photo editing and a few other things before the close of 2023. August through a couple of weeks ago was among the busiest periods in recent JOVM history. So back in August, I covered two different shows: Academy Records and Union Pool‘s Summer Thunder Showcase at Union Pool featuring William Tyler and The Impossible Truth with Garcia Peoples that afternoon. Right after that show ended, I wound up Elsewhere’s Zone One to catch JOVM mainstay Blak Emoji headline an eclectic bill of rock and funk that featured Control The Sound and Nick Vivid as openers.
