The last night of Soulive’s 6th annual Brooklyn Bowl residency featured the jazz/jam-band trio playing with renowned, contemporary jazz pianist Marco Benevento; Bowlive regulars, The Shady Horns; the New Orleans funk legend and co-founder of The Meters, George Porter, Jr.; and the up-and-coming, guitar prodigy Brandon “Taz” Neiderauer. Although personally, the show didn’t live up to the incredible energy of their shows with Charles Bradley, Chris Robinson, and George Porter, Jr,; however, there were two incredible moments – a 22 minute, cosmic jam version of Marco Benevento’s “Tigerface” and a cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Black Dog” to close out the residency.
