Live Concert Photography: Fulaso at Nublu 10/8/16
Led by the dynamic Erica “The Soulette” Ramos and featuring Juan “El Pelu” Bowers, Mario “El Cubano” Padron, Mick “The Vest” Santurio, Hector “Ya Tu Sabes” Torres,
Charly “I’m Gonna Get You Sucka” Rodriguez, Jonathan “Big Basement” Flothow,
Matt “The Blade” Thomas, Mike “Metal Lips” Irwin and Pat “The Plunger” Hall, Fulaso, an acronym short for Funky Latin Soul is a New York-based dectet that specializes in funk, boogaloo and Latin soul covers and originals with lyrics sung both in Spanish and English. And over the past few years, the collective have played a number of shows locally including sets at Brooklyn Bowl and at DJ Turmix’s monthly Boogaloo party at Nublu, which interestingly enough is where I caught them last weekend.
