Live Concert Photography: Noelle and the Filthy No-Nos
Rockwood Music Hall
May 1, 2015
Late last year, I wrote a bit about the New York-based act, Noelle and the Filthy No-Nos — and the act initially comprised of Noelle Tannen (vocals, keys), Andrew Cowie (baritone sax, tenor sax), Ash Russell (trumpet), Zach Cohen (guitar), Derek Rusinek (bass) and Andrew Marshall (drums) have quickly developed a reputation locally for a live set of material featuring key, tempo and time signature changes inspired by prog rock, soul, jazz and funk paired with Tannen’s quirky stage presence which evokes child-like, guileless innocence, sultry seductiveness and a raw and ragged aggressiveness within a turn of a phrase. I recently caught the band for a packed, late night set at Rockwood Music Hall. Check out some photos from the set below.
