Make My Head Sing is the follow up to Jessica Lea Mayfield’s critically applauded 2011 album, Tell Me, which was produced by the Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach, with whom she has frequently collaborated in the past. Slated for an April 15th release, Make My Head Sing has the singer/songwriter taking her sound towards a much heavier direction. In fact, “Oblivious,” the first single off the forthcoming album consists of bluesy, dirge-like and earth-rattling power chords, simple but powerful drumming and Mayfield’s dreamy and seemingly distracted vocals.

With “Oblivious” Mayfield brings her sound back towards the aggressive sound of the 90s – somehow you can picture kids moshing and losing their shit once this song came on live, can’t you?
