My Radio can trace their origin to when singer/songwriter JP Powell (of Chauncey, Bleu and My Favorite Relative) left Boston for Roanoke, VA and ran into his future drummer, Hunter Johnson (of Justin Jones) at a local coffee shop. Guitarist Brett Lemon and bassist Jeff Hofmann were quickly added to the group. And with that lineup, the band has played gigs throughout Virginia, North and South Carolina, NYC, Boston, Philly, and Washington, DC

The band’s self-released EP, Give Us the Sun had a song, “Yeah Yeah Yeah” featured in the David Duchovny and Demi Moore film, The JonesesStarts in the East, Falls in the West will be the band’s forthcoming album and it’ll see a November 27th release from Red Eye Distribution. “Life is a Bitch Slap,” is the first single from the album and it’s a slickly produced bit of melodic indie pop, reminiscent of the Fixx’s “Sign of Fire.” Look for them when they play a November 15th show at Arlene’s Grocery
