News/Announcements: Newport Folk Festival Announces 2025 Dates and General Ticket Sales

Newport Festivals Foundation (NFF) is a 501 (c)(3) profit organization with a mission to create moments of hope through the power of music and community. Best known for production the iconic Newport Jazz and Newport Folk Festivals, the Foundation spends most of the year working to create and sustain the next generation of musicians through music education and artist relief programs.

Thanks to the support of their generous and kind community, Newport Festivals Foundation offers music programs in their backyard of Newport, RI, which includes free, private music lessons, instrument donations to public schools, jam sessions and summer camps.

Nationally, NFF partners with festival artists to support music education programs they’re passionate about. Since 2018, their Artist Gives initiative has provided over 200 grants to music education programs in over 38 states, including instruments for public schools, funding for music instruction workshops for veterans, Girls Rock Summer camps, after-school music lessons for children with learning disabilities, and much more.

The Newport Festivals Musician Relief Fund (MRF) provides financial relief to musicians, who have experienced unexpected hardships such as theft, tour cancellation and natural disasters. Resources from NFF and donations from individuals, foundations and corporations have allowed the fund to help over 670 musicians at a time of need.

Newport Folk Festival will return to Rhode Island’s Fort Adams State Park for its 66th edition. Taking place July 25, 2025 – July 27, 2025, the three-day festival will continue to provide a safe space for artists to express themselves and gather with fans for the community, discovery, diversity, celebration, collaboration, virtuosity and bonds that are spirit of the Festival.

Last year, Newport Folk celebrated the creation of the Newport Folk Stewardship Program, a program that identifies remarkably individuals with a demonstrated history of enriching and supporting the legacy of Newport Folk Festival. Each Newport Folk Steward will pledge to continually challenge and celebrate the folk community by pioneering meaningful initiatives that impact the future of the festival in significant and collaborative ways. The inaugural recipient was Nathaniel Ratliff and the Night Sweats’ Nathaniel Rateliff. Rateliff was chosen for his artistry, perseverance and continued allyship. As the first Newport Folk Steward, Rateliff chose to devote his three-year term to artist advocacy, fellowship and mentorship both at the Fort and beyond.
