Photography: County Cork Pipes & Drums at McGuinness’s Saloon 3/1/26
It took me a while to go through these photos and with New Colossus Festival this past week, I’m finally — and I mean finally — posting these today. Being busy is a good thing after all.
I love parades. And what better way to celebrate and champion diversity and inclusion, right? I went to Sunnyside for the 26th annual St. Pat’s For All Parade. What a fun way to spend a gorgeous, although chilly early March afternoon?
County Cork Pipes & Drums, who marched in the parade, spent their post-parade marching and playing at the local bars. Their neighborhood circuit, included a stop at a packed McGuinness’s Saloon, where I had stopped for Guinness and basketball.

The Joy of Violent Movement is a completely independent and completely D.I.Y. media outlet. Over the course of this site’s 15+ year history, I’ve used my fiercely independent stance to cover music with an eclectic and global perspective that a lot of other publications just don’t have — and will likely never have.
To that end, I could use your support to continue to keep bringing you my unique global perspective on music. There are a number of ways that you can support this work.
I’ve been told that some people would prefer to make a one-time donation because it’s easy and less of an obligation. So, if you’re able to make a one-time donation, there’s a donation box below.
