Photography: New York Liberty 2024 WNBA Championship Parade

Last week, the New York Liberty won their first WNBA championship in franchise history. And to celebrate the historic occasion, there was a ticker tape parade in Downtown Manhattan’s iconic Canyon of Heroes — and Heroines last week.

  • The championship and the parade marked some rather historic occasions:
  • It’s the first basketball championship in New York in 51 years
  • It’s the first championship ticker tape parade in 5 years
  • The third ticker tape parade celebrating a women’s team
  • And it was the first local championship parade in 12 years — unless the Yankees change that
