Ward White is a Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter and guitarist, who first made a name for himself as one-half of the critically applauded chamber pop McGinty and White, which featured Joe McGinty, a former member of Psychedelic Furs, and the creator of The Loser’s Lounge tribute series.

McGinty and White’s full-length debut received praise from The New Yorker and The New York Press.  During his stint with the duo, White quietly and quickly developed a reputation as as solo artist of note with 2013’s Bob and 2014’s Ward White Is The Matador, which were both released to critical praise from iTunes, New York Magazine, Magnet Magazineand CMJ for a songwriting approach and sound that has been compared favorably to Scott Walker, 1970s  David Bowie, T. Rex and others.

A few weeks ago, White emailed me and asked if he could use a photo I had taken of him about a decade ago for the liner notes of the 10th Anniversary Edition of Ward White Is The Matador. I said yes.

The other day, I received my copy of the album and man, what a thrill and honor.
