Sub Pop labelmates Shabazz Palaces and the Helio Sequence are touring as part of a co-headlining tour throughout January and February – you can catch them in Atlanta, GA; Miami, FL; Asheville, NC; Orlando, FL; Nashville, TN; Louisville, KY; St. Louis, MO; and ending in Bloomington, IN before the Helio Sequence heads out to the Northwest with dates in Eugene, OR; Bend, OR; Pullman, WA; Vancouver, BC; and Seattle, WA. Both bands exchanged remixes to celebrate their co-headling tour. The Helio Sequence’s remix of Shabazz Palaces “Recollections of the wraith (Lean)” adds shimmering guitar to big hip hop beats to create an eerie, otherworldly feel. Interestingly enough, the remix kind of reminds me of the Judgement Night Soundtrack.
