The Brooklyn-based band Stone Cold Fox is comprised of members who are originally from both coasts with members claiming birthplaces from Maine to California. And naturally, the members of the quintet claim some rather diverse influences from American roots, indie electro pop and others.

Their debut EP, The Young was released in 2012 to critical praise from the likes of Filter Magazine and the Deli Magazine. But they spent the past year in the studio writing and recording the material that would wind up on the band’s forthcoming, full-length  Memory Palace, slated for a May 6th release.

“January” is the first single off Memory Palace and the track consists of pulsing synths that evoke a sense of urgency, along with angular guitars that will remind most listeners of the Rapture, Cut Copy and even LCD Soundsystem – and in fact much like those bands, the track seems perfect for the dance floor.
